Enter fabulous February. Thursday openings, and a chance to explore Finland and Germany. Turku is the furthest north I have ever been, and the furthest north any Disney On Ice show has ever traveled. It is a university city, and a port city on a southwestern harbor of Finland. It is small and walkable. Turku boasts several spectacular cathedrals, numerous delicatessan restaurants, cafes that serve well for studying, and fun nightlife. It is also home to a small castle, a few great museums, and really fun sculpture art along the harbor walkway. A friend and I went to a yoga class with an instructor who spoke the entire time in Finnish. That was fun! I walked the entire river walk, spent time in the cathedrals, ate delicious food, and enjoyed a girls night out with all of the girls in our cast.
